Job Title: Engineer I - MFG

I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Ensure the effective application, integration and measurement of manufacturing techniques and resources that successfully accomplish manufacturing processes/activities in support of quality, cost and schedule objectives. Develop and implement cost effective manufacturing methods, testing and flow of material. Participates in determining and providing an optimum plan of operation, equipment, space requirements, and related facilities for assigned areas. Facilitates capacity planning and work load prioritization. Supports the development of new methods, processes, and equipment and applies them to the manufacturing operation. May provide technical support to, and assist in determining the technical and manufacturing capability of vendors. Manages resources and provides status information and feedback to internal customers and managers as required.
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job. Incumbent(s) perform one or more of the following duties.)
1. Working with limited supervision and independent judgment: Develops work instructions, routings, and procedures in support of manufacturing processes. Prepares detailed work instructions and directives in support of manufacturing processes.
2. Develops capacity analyses to maintain efficient manpower and equipment utilization as requested.
3. Provides manufacturing personnel with technical guidance.
4. Analyzes manufacturing processes and work flow for continuous improvement opportunities and implements changes.
5. Performs methods and cost analyses and conducts process measurements.
6. Develop new manufacturing processes / tooling and resolve manufacturing constraints.
7. Develop facilities, equipment, and personnel layouts for manufacturing including preparation of capital expense justification(s).
8. Proficient in use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Quality systems, and other manufacturing support systems.
9. Assist other department personnel in reviewing engineering designs for manufacturability.
10. Assist in the resolution of supply chain issues impacting manufacturing.
11. Has experience with Circuit Card, cable / harness, chassis assembly, fabrication and product integration.
III. SUPERVISION:
A. Responsibilities for Work of Others
Supervises no employees. May provide technical instruction/training to others.
B. Supervision Received
Receives general supervision and follows established procedures. Assignments are provided with some latitude for ingenuity. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical adequacy and accuracy.
IV. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
A. Within Company
Frequent contact inside the manufacturing and test area. May be a member of a project team.
B. Outside of Company
Occasional outside contact.
V. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
A. Physical Tasks
Exerts normal physical energy.
B. Working Conditions
Normal office and manufacturing area environment. May work extended hours or weekends. May travel overnight or on weekends.
VI. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Limited input in the budgetary process as it relates to assigned projects.
Minimum Qualifications is any of the following:
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent on the job experience in similar role
Experience developing work instructions and procedures in support of manufacturing processes.
Must have thorough knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes and tooling Preferred Skills and Education
Experience with Production processes and procedures, engineering practices, product design, reading and interpreting documentation, drawings, wiring schematics and wire lists used to produce product. Furthermore, conformal coating, SMT line, wash & bake process, potting process and paint/coating experience preferred.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent on the job experience in similar role

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with Production processes and procedures, engineering practices, product design, reading and interpreting documentation, drawings, wiring schematics and wire lists used to produce product. Furthermore, conformal coating, SMT line, wash & bake process, potting process and paint/coating experience preferred.
