JOB MISSION:
Computational Design Programmer II is a highly skilled professional who specializes in creating and utilizing customized computational design tools and applications. This position requires proficiency in programming and scripting, which enables the individual to work alongside the Computational Design team to implement unique software and extended applications to resolve and develop advanced designs. The focus of this role is on generative design, computational simulations, visualizations, machine learning, and artificial intelligence applications.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for working with various types of data, such as sports research, wear tests, and consumer feedback, to enhance the end-to-end design and manufacturing processes
- Developing solutions for computational automation, rendering, simulating, and digital manufacturing with other members of the Computational Design team
- Ensures that the team is working efficiently and effectively, ultimately resulting in the creation of high-quality and innovative designs.
- Develop in-house programming and scripting solutions
- Support end-to-end design and manufacturing processes
- Developing and use generative design methods and digital manufacturing technologies, executing forward-looking design concepts.
- Work closely with computational designers, inline design team and engineers
- Implement and develop the concepts and design models developed by computation leads
- Generative/Parametric/Computational/Evolutionary design
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- Computer Science, Computational Design, Industrial Design, Architecture
- A masters or PhD degree in related field is preferable
- Experience in one or multiple programming languages such as C#, Python, Visual Basic
- Knowledge in building custom components in Rhino Grasshopper, Modo, Magics, nTopology
- Experience in industrial and/or architectural design and visualization
- Track record in industry is a plus
