Job Description
Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience pulling cable and fiber in overhead trays, soffits, drop ceilings, risers
  • Terminate solderless electrical connectors
  • Soldering
  • Assembly Skills
o Build to print
o Use basic hand tools
o Use a toque wrench
o Use power tools
o Use a digital multimeter
o Perform heat shrinking and label making
o Use measuring devices (ruler and caliper)
o Follow tolerances
o Care, cleaning, inspection, and connection of optical fiber and RF coaxial cables and adapters
o Connection of standard low voltage wiring ( 50VDC) and ground cables
o “Racking” equipment into IT racks
o Install peripheral components into servers and other rack mounted chassis
  • Documentation
o Interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics
o Familiar with common electrical and mechanical symbols and abbreviations
o Follow detailed work instructions
o Document deficiencies
o Redline documents and drawings
  • Material
o Receive new hardware and material, prepping for use or storage
o Preparing hardware and material for shipment
o Assist with inventories
  • Physical Requirements
o Able to climb ladders
o Able to lift 50lbs
o Able to distinguish wire colors
o Able to use magnifying glasses or instruments to inspect wires, fibers, etc.
o Able to stand and work constantly for a 10 hour shift (with breaks)
  • Safety, Security, Product Quality
o Use safety and security precautions and equipment
o Enforce safety, security, quality standards, and SOP rules
o Exercise sound judgement in mechanical, electrical, quality, and physical problems
o Maintain assigned equipment and tools
o Maintain and clean work area
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Troubleshooting Skills
o Be able to use training or experience to trouble shoot mechanical or electrical problems
Desired Skills:
o Basic IT networking experience
o Ability to use terminal programs over serial and IP connections
o Ability to complete firmware upgrades
o Drafting experience
o Familiarity with quality systems like ISO, AS
o Use of RF test equipment
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
