Job Description
Provides support to the Office of Communications by developing, designing, testing and implementing responsive webpages and technology for the college’s website and intranet portal. Focuses on maintaining overall website quality by providing accurate, up-to-date and accessible content for all users. Serves as Communications department liaison on web and technology initiatives which serve the College’s internal and external audiences.

This is an in-person position located at the Columbia Campus.

Essential Functions:
Develops, designs and implements responsive webpages for the College’s website and intranet portal.
Translates storyboards, wireframes and site maps into web design layouts.
Proactively identifies content changes and improvements for the College’s websites, including www.ColumbiaState.edu, myChargerNet intranet portal, and other interactive publications.
Maintains cross-platform, cross-browser and device compatibility to ensure a consistent and positive user experience.
Maintains and updates web content and visual media utilizing a content management system (CMS).
Reviews and updates website and web documents for accessibility and usability in compliance with Section 508 and current WCAG standards.
Utilizes SEO techniques and reviews website for quality assurance to ensure accurate spelling, up-to-date content and working links.
Analyzes website using Google Analytics to direct continuous improvements to the content and overall design.
Provides user training for internal stakeholders and provides guidance on site governance and college web policies and procedures.
Assists with conducting web focus groups and web usability testing.
Uses the Adobe Creative Suite to design web graphics and edit and size images for the web.
Develops content for the college’s mobile app and ensures timely updates.
Develops and designs email templates and electronic newsletters.
Participates actively in project and process meetings as necessary for the accurate and timely completion of projects, and provides feedback on an on-going basis.
Assists with photography and videography as needed.

Supplemental Functions:
Serves as member of Communications team.
Serves on college committees as assigned.
Participates in other college activities as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems technology or related discipline.
Proficient in HTML, CSS, XML, PHP, XSLT, JavaScript/jQuery and json.
Knowledge of web development best practices, including SEO and compliance with Section 508 and current WCAG guidelines.
Experience managing multiple projects, adapting to changing schedules and meeting deadlines.
Demonstrated effective skills in the use of Google Analytics, Google Search, Adobe Creative Suite and utilizing vendor APIs.
Minimum of three years work experience in developing, designing and managing complete websites.

Experience Preferred:
Experience working with the Cascade content management system or the coding language Velocity.
Experience shooting and editing photos and video.

Must be self-motivated, organized, able to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
Knowledge of current web trends.
Knowledge of both Mac and Windows operating systems.
High level of decision-making ability and sound judgment.
Ability to effectively deal with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Understanding of Microsoft Office.

Hiring Salary Range: $46,320 - $57,890
