Eaton’s VEH Vehicle Group division is currently seeking a Sr Industrial Engineer. This position can be remote from home office or based at any of the following VGNA sites (Southfield, MI, Galesburg, MI, South Bend, IN, Kings Mountain, NC, Roxboro, NC, Athens, GA, or Kearney, NE). Relocation assistance and sponsorship are not currently available for this position.


The expected annual salary range for this role is $77249.97 - $113299.96 a year.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

This position is focused on support cross functional teams to improve continuous improvement culture across administrative, manufacturing and assembly processes for new and existing products throughout VGNA manufacturing sites. Emphasis will be to use strong Lean skills along industrial and manufacturing engineering knowledge, to drive productivity improvements.

In this role, you will:

  • Utilize strong industrial and manufacturing engineering skills, along with lean tools, to drive productivity improvements.
  • Facilitate events, coordinate timing and track certification process
  • Owner of the coordination of accomplishments for the (30,60,90 Tracker) support Lean Tool certification candidates to achieve their goals.
  • Prepare kaizen events preparation documents. Upgrade training material for the region
  • Upgrade CI SharePoint with latest information from the region, on a monthly basis.
  • Digitalization of tools for administrative process, by creation of apps on Power Apps (Ideas, OEE, 1:1, LSW (T-Card/Buzzer to Buzzer), resource allocation, productivity, etc…)
  • Document CI tools used in prior I4.0 projects.
  • Ability to embrace, understand and support I4.0 solutions such as Digital Work instructions, simulation & Augmented reality
  • Support the coordination of Model line initiative for I4.0
  • Directs problem resolution activities such as 8-D and projects of continuous improvement
  • Support documentation needs, process upgrades, standard upgrades.
  • Coordinates best practice implementation between multiple facilities
  • Implements improvements to existing manufacturing operations
  • Recommends improvements to existing manufacturing operations.
  • Support focus plants needs in any activity suggested.
  • Support CI Management on requirements needed.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from accredited institution
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a technical or engineering related field within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel to other Eaton VGNA sites (US & Mexico) up to 50%.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Remote work is available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology from accredited institution
  • Previous engineering manufacturing experience
  • Previous Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience using AutoCad
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience using Power Bi & Power App capabilities

Skills:

Position Success Criteria:

  • Experience with machining and assembly processes
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience in deploying specific Lean Tools (5S, SW, VSM, TPM, SUR, LMF, 3P, PSK)
  • Team facilitation skills with the ability to lead a team to enthusiastic consensus
  • Establish positive working relationships and credibility with multiple manufacturing sites
  • Able to work with limited, and remote, supervision
  • Capable of handling multiple projects at a time
  • Comfortable interfacing with customers and all levels of management
  • Able to function in multicultural work environments
  • High level of creativity in creating unique solutions
