HII is currently seeking a full time Engineer to support the USS Columbus at the Newport News Shipyard! This position will involve working for the Newport News Engineering Department E03 Engineers, Designers, and Waterfront trades to identify and resolve problems and encounter onboard ship during repairs of the Submarine USS Columbus. This position is located at the Newport News Shipyard.
What You Will Do
- Performs engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical.
- Work with the trades department on the submarine.
- Write Technical documents.
- Correct issues and errors found.
What You Must Have
- 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field.
- Candidate must be a recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or graduating college senior who is in good academic standing and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required prior to starting employment.
- Candidate will also be required to provide a copy of their transcript confirming successful completion of Bachelor’s degree prior to start.
- Proficient in technical writing
- Able to work in confined spaces and climb ladders
- Ability Obtain a confidential clearance
- Must be able to read and understand technical drawings
- Must be able to asses problems and come up with a solution
- AutoCAD experience
