Job Description
Position Summary:

MAG is searching for a Part-Time Field Installation Engineer with extensive experience working on-site, directing on-site functions, and enhancing efficiency and customer service. Your technical expertise will assist our organization in increasing client satisfaction, improving efficiency, managing risk, diagnosing problems, and complying with laws and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting site visits, monitoring schedules, and supervising technicians.
  • Running field operations, offering technical support, and troubleshooting on-site issues.
  • Ensuring on-site efficiency and safety at all times.
  • Estimating costs, approving project designs, and preparing contracts.
  • Analyzing data, monitoring expenditure, and drafting progress reports.
  • Overseeing equipment testing, maintenance, installation, and planning.
  • Mitigating risk, ensuring compliance, and evaluating environmental impact.
  • Directing staff, contractors, engineers, and other on-site personnel.
  • Meeting with clients and stakeholders.
  • Drafting and submitting reports to superiors and other key individuals.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills
  • Provide support with activities related to the operation, demonstration, and technical
    assessment of radio products, such as the Handheld Radio and Man-pack radio systems.
  • Work in a laboratory or field environment assisting senior engineers with configuration, operation and testing of radios and associated networks, utilizing networking equipment, computer programs, and other test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, multimeter's, Bit Error Rate Test sets, network analyzers, etc.
  • Support Field test activities, such as Field Studies and Characterizations, Customer Tests, Developmental Tests, and Operational Test Events.
  • Assist with the development and/or evaluation of technical documents such as system specifications, vendor-provided requirements qualifications documents, Test Plans and Procedures, and review said documents for technical accuracy and content, and for the purposes of the performance of lab or field testing.
  • Provide recommendations and suggest changes for improvements to test plans and other documents and communicate this to the Engineering Staff and Technical Lead.
  • Assist in the reduction, analysis, and presentation of test data, and assist with the generation of test reports.
  • Interact with members of the Army acquisition workforce, Test Officers, Task and Functional Leads, and senior engineers.
  • Write Technical Information Reports to assist the Engineering team with reporting deficiencies to the customer.
  • Configure and load the new Handheld 2 channel Leader radio (AN/PRC-163 and AN/PRC-148C).
  • Configure the TSM (Tactical Scalable MANET) waveform for use on the Leader radio to include network and Radio Frequency configuration.

Experience
  • The minimum years of related experience required: 2.
Education
  • The minimum level of education required is: High school diploma.
Desired Requirements
  • Office 365 & Linux proficient, skill in computer networking, technical writing, problem solving, teamwork, planning, and management skills.
  • VIASAT (Satellite Simulator) in the use of the Integrated WaveformIWIW), Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) 5 and 25K UHF Satellite communications.
  • COMP TIA A Plus certification.
  • ITIL IT service management certification.
  • COMP TIA Cloud essentials certification.
  • COMP TIA Project Plus certification.
Other Qualifications
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance.
