We are looking for a technically skilled and highly focused individual to lead the electrical/electronic pursuit activity for Nexteer’s Electronic Power Steering (EPS) and Steer-by-Wire (SbW) technologies. This position will lead the elicitation of customer requirements and collaborate within the organization to promote understanding by sub-system teams in the development of an electrical design proposal. The Electrical Pursuit Engineer will then lead the controller/sensor discussion with the customer. This opportunity requires frequent customer interactions, so excellent technical communication skills are necessary. This position provides the opportunity to be on the front lines in securing new business world-wide for Nexteer utilizing communication, program management, analytical and hands on skills.

Job Description:

• This position is in Saginaw, Michigan and offers a hybrid work schedule
• Lead/optimize/track cross-functional efforts to develop technical solutions that meet pursuit imperatives (technical, commercial, timing, etc.)
• Lead and negotiate technical solution proposals to Nexteer customers, develop a rapport with the OEM contact that fosters trust and open communication
• Develop the required mechanization, Electrical Pursuit Package, Controller/Sensor Bill of Materials (eBOM) and Requirements Compliance Matrix for the Powerpack controller and sensors assembly
• Work closely with Systems Pursuit Engineer to offer Nexteer customer’s a seamless, cohesive pursuit proposal
• Actively coordinate / interface with the powerpack architecture and core groups
• Apply new architecture exited technologies and ideas within EPS & SbW, minimize invention
• Stay abreast of new Steering technologies
• Provide technical direction to support architecture, core and application team development
• Assist in designing and building EPS & SbW steering solutions for target demonstration vehicles

Job Requirements:

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of experience
• Highly effective oral and written communications skills
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
• Demonstrated project leadership skills and ability to work independently
• Innovative and independent thinker
• Interest in product design, particularly automotive
• Strong computer application experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
• Experience in electrical hardware design and analysis (Preferred)
• General understanding in System approach including motors, controllers, sensors, and software (Preferred)
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and controls (Preferred)
• General understanding of Nexteer products (Preferred)
