Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY :
This position is accountable to support, investigate, and implement Server/Network/Desktop technologies and to insure system integrity and security within a multisite global network. The System Administrator Engineer assists in the maintenance, upgrades and management of company network hardware including firewalls, switches, hosts and servers. Monitors network performance and diagnoses and resolves issues and performance bottlenecks. Performs routine maintenance and updates on network hardware. Ensures systems meet industry standards for and best practices for configuration, and security. Maintains and monitors network backups.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: :
  • Provision, configure and maintain Windows Server environment and Windows Server applications
  • Support and maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure
  • Manage the configuration and operation of network-based operating systems
  • Provide technical support for network hardware and software issues
  • Review server logs and resolve recurring errors and issues. Monitor the systems daily and respond to performance or security concerns
  • Monitor and maintain company firewalls and monitoring tools. Review logs and respond to errors, threats and issues
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance on network hardware including security patches, firmware updates, software updates, and antivirus/malware updates
  • Verify backups of network data. Perform routine test of backup systems including full system restore or rebuild
  • Maintain network addressing scheme and perform address assignment
  • Maintain company Disaster Recovery platform. Monitor replication and perform tests of system
  • Plan and perform upgrades of systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security
  • Assist in the rollout of new software programs or software upgrades to servers and client computers
  • Support LANs, WANs, VPNs, Internet, intranet and corporate systems
  • Document system setup and configuration, maintain change logs and network diagrams
  • Other assignments as designated by Department Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 7+ years’ experience in Information Technologies field as a Systems Administrator
  • Associate or higher degree in Information Technologies or a related field or professional certifications such as Network+, MCSE, CCNA, or other IT network/systems specific certifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, Group Policies, WSUS, DNS
  • Experience with virtualized server infrastructures and VMWare 6.0 or higher
  • Experience with SAN operations
  • Experience with Cisco firewalls
  • Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
  • Experience with Backup Software and procedures
  • Experience with Antivirus/malware products
  • Knowledge of Linux
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Scripting/PowerShell tools, Wireless Security.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: :
  • Ability to lift and carry loads of 25 pounds.
  • Ability to document procedures for both technical and end-user communities
  • You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users

EDUCATION: :
  • Associate or higher degree in Information Technologies or a related field or professional certifications such as, Network+, MCSE, CCNA or IT network/systems specific certifications.
