Job Summary: Perform functions to provide manufacturing departments with technical and engineering support in areas related to manufacturing problem resolution and process improvement, working within the limits of established policies. Developing, configuring and optimizing industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification. Assessing processes, taking measurements and interpreting data. Designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes.
Required Education/Experience:
- Associate degree in Engineering
- Travel may be required up to 25%
- Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in engineering
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Strong understanding of mechanical components
- Knowledge of material sciences, metallurgy, aluminum.
- Knowledge of 6-sigma and LEAN manufacturing principles
- Previous experience with SolidWorks
- Working Knowledge of modeling software
- Ability to think critically and theoretically.
- 3+ years’ experience in induction welded tube manufacturing

Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor manufacturing processes. Document operation processes and investigate existing and emerging technology, to determine opportunities for process improvements to affect quality and efficiency of production.
- Examine specific problem areas, efficiency opportunities and devise solutions. Determine process and equipment modifications required to affect desired changes. Conduct experiments, document results, prepare reports and make presentations to management regarding process and equipment modifications, designed to correct designated problems.
- Implement trials of authorized programs, monitor, measure, examine, validate and report results. Document programs, including procedures, timing and costs. Initiate, implement permanent process changes and manage related implementation projects, working with vendors, manufacturing management and all levels of production, quality and engineering staff.
- Provide production support through process parameter control, process design and changes. Staff training as required to implement new process or equipment improvements, scrap reduction and productivity improvements.
- Monitor implementation programs, anticipate and resolve related problems. Ensure programs operate within designated budgetary constraints and prepare any range of related progress reports and presentations.
- Develop and maintain process control plans, FMEAs and process manuals.
- Respond to and investigate customer product complaints. Examine product or results of product utilization and identify specific problems.
- Examine process and quality documentation. Determine causes for problems, conduct root cause analysis and recommend solutions follow up to implement or support changes. Communicate results to customers and document incidents for further review and historical files.
- Equipment validations, safety and quality audits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5 S standards.
- Requires the ability to perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements.
