Software Engineer
About the role:
This is a multi-faceted role that will require an organized individual who is eager to learn, enjoys working in a team and thrives in a fast-paced environment. A can-do attitude and willingness to jump in and get things done is critical. This includes, but is not limited to, gathering requirements, defining system functionality, and producing code. The focus of this role is the continuous refinement and development of in-house software packages and the integration of third-party software capabilities to increase the utility of our undersea vehicles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, improve, and test software systems, namely user interfaces.
- Develop and test software interfaces with partner companies in multi-disciplinary areas such as Command and Control, Robotics and Augmented Reality.
- Produce clean, high-quality, testable code and generate clear documentation.
- Take responsibility for work within a small yet dynamic engineering team, supporting both prototype development and longer-term software code development projects running concurrently.
- Support production and service teams, understand their needs and improve/create internal software tools.
- Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for in you:
We are looking for a driven and ambitious individual with leadership qualities to join our growing team, with a proven track record of effectively collaborating across culturally diverse teams, and who demonstrates traits that include curiosity, critical thinking, ability to prioritize through ambiguity and an enthusiasm for change.
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing modular software is required.
- Strong C++ software development skills is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Experience with underwater robotic systems is preferred.
- UI design experience is highly desired.
- Experience with Qt and/or C# is a plus.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to deliver quick turn projects without compromising quality is essential.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Eagerness to participate in field testing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance is preferred.

Pay range: $65,000 - $95,000 per annum.
