Overview
The Mastercard Builders’ Enablement Program has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer. We are part of Mastercard’s Team ONE (Operations, Network and Employee Digital Experience) empowering 6000+ Engineers around the globe. We are responsible for creating a great developer experience enabling engineering teams to deliver innovative payment solutions for hundreds of millions of customers. We build and operate a holistic set of services and tooling for:

  • Application Frameworks & Bootstrapping
  • Standard CI/CD Pipelines, Developer Tooling & Environments
  • Cloud agnostic Declarative provisioning of infrastructure and application resources

Our services enable engineers to focus on delivering business value from ideation to market. The ideal candidate will help Mastercard developers efficiently build, test, and deliver secure, quality code. Builders Enablement is reshaping the future of development tooling at Mastercard and we are looking for passionate Software Engineers like you to help us deliver on our commitments.

Role
  • Develop, test, and deploy applications and software components within the Builders Enablement Program
  • Able to troubleshoot and refactor existing code
  • Adopt new languages and architecture patterns needed for the work
  • Demonstrates active learning
  • Share and seek knowledge within the Software Engineering Guild & Builders Enablement Program to drive reuse and productivity
  • Participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders
  • Own delivery tasks (design, dev, test, deployment, configuration, documentation) to meet the business requirements
  • Adhere to Mastercard Engineering Principles, Builders’ Enablement development standards, and Corporate Security guidelines
  • Support the design, creation, and adoption of technology solutions in support of the Builders Enablement Program through hands-on
  • Facilitate the delivery of an efficient and secure SDLC in Mastercard from the initial ideation to production deployment
  • Developer Experience is central to everything you do
  • Actively participate as a member of the Software Engineering Guild sharing your knowledge, best practices, ideas, and passion for technology

All About You
  • An experienced software engineer with applied knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • Software Engineering – API's, frameworks
  • Cloud Engineering

  • Experience with one or more object-oriented languages and/or functional languages (e.g., Java, Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl, Groovy) and familiar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI, CERT)
  • Understands and implements standard branching (e.g., Gitflow) and peer review practices; Applies tools (e.g., Sonar, Zally, Checkmarx) and techniques to scan and measure code quality and antipatterns as part of development activity.
  • Good understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Delivery (CD) concepts and capabilities to support automation, pipelines, virtualization, and containerization; Aware of configuration management using tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Artifactory, Jenkins, Git, Sonar)
  • Understand the basic tenets of building and running mission-critical software capabilities (security, customer experience, testing, operability, simplification, service-oriented architecture)
  • Experience with technologies such as Crossplane, Kubernetes, Terrraform is a plus

Westchester County Salary Range: $101,000 - $156,000
