Your New Role...

Studio & Industry Engagement (SIE) is responsible for building and managing applications that are used by other businesses and professional individuals to interact with Warner Bros. Discovery. These applications run the gamut of: journalist access of images, in-person and virtual red carpet screening, mobile based screening apps for award voting, talent management for production scheduling and ability for employees view our entire WBD catalog.

Your Role Accountabilities...

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible architecting and developing enterprise level, scalable applications that are highly supportable and maintainable. This will be accomplished by working closely with an agile team of software engineers, UX designers, product and project managers. The right candidate should exhibit expertise with the tech stack, demonstrate ability to work independently and be capable of understand high level business requirements and converting them into practical solutions.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • Closely collaborate with the team to plan, design and implement features into a software product.
  • Overall responsibility for design, code quality, testing and deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and fix bugs, security vulnerabilities, and operational issues.
  • Document technical solutions and articulate these solutions to both a business and technical audience.
  • 5+ years of established track record implementing large-scale, high-quality software applications.
  • Expert level knowledge of PHP, Symfony framework and API Platform framework
  • Extensive front-end experience with Vue.js and React.js as well as Sass, CSS and HTML.
  • Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript as well as Node.js and frameworks available for it
  • Good knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL, Dynamo and MongoDB
  • Knowledge of behavior-driven design and/or test-driven design and design patterns.
  • Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
  • Experience creating logging, crash analytics and usage analytics solutions using platforms such as Sentry.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
  • Extensive experience with GIT and GitHub.
  • Understanding and commitment to software engineering and project management principles / processes.
  • Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Solid foundation in troubleshooting application and data issues in a distributed environment.
  • Drive to master emerging technologies and share experience with team members.
  • Ability to understand goals, strategies, and needs of the business as they relate to application development.
  • Ability to work both as a part of the team and operate independently.
  • Extensive hand-on experience with WordPress CMS, including building themes and plugins preferred.
  • Strong understanding and practical use experience of SAM and Serverless technologies preferred.
  • Expertise in implementing scalable, distributed, and highly available systems on AWS using ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS/SQS Extensive experience implementing REST APIs in a microservice architecture preferred.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $109,900.00 - $204,100.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
