Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer - SEIT Lead responsible for 5G Development and Design. Joining our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. The position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
Essential Functions:
In this role, the candidate will lead a team of Embedded Systems Engineers implementing 5G development and design. The candidate will work with the Chief Architect, the Subsystem Leads and the to develop the 5G segment architecture and segment requirements; lead requirements analyses; develop and manage the functional allocations. Represent the IPT for all Systems Engineering meetings; lead the development of all System Engineering documentation; support the SEIT IPT in the overall planning and execution of all required reviews (e.g. SRR, SFR, Design Reviews, etc.). The candidate will also serve as the coordinating element between the subsystem leads and their teams for any and all inter-subsystem coordination challenges, issues and opportunities.
The candidate will lead the 5G implementation team to analyze the requirements, perform necessary trades; support subsystem leads in writing RFIs/RFQs/RFPs; support subsystem leads in writing specifications and statements of work (SOWs); support subsystem leads in identifying vendor products; support the subsystem leads in technical evaluation of vendor products (performance, cost, schedule and risk); support capture activities to include writing sections of a Technical Volume; developing and integrating sections of the program Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS); researching and leveraging past performance to develop and defend the Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the Cost Volume.
The candidate must be able to plan, work, and status to a budget; develop, review, and present materials to senior management and Customers; work across IPTs for a system solution; and provide technical and managerial oversight to ensure high quality deliverable products (e.g. CDRLs, test models, manufacturing plans, etc.). Candidate must be well organized with excellent writing skills, adaptable, and have a strong knowledge of advanced sensor integration and performance. Top Secret preferred. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Flexibility to evolving program environments.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline and 14 years of engineering experience OR a master's degree and 12 years of engineering experience OR a PhD Degree and 9 years of engineering experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Current experience with Aircraft systems engineering process and procedures
Recent experience in leading all activities leading to SRR, SVR and all major design reviews
Preferred Qualifications:
Current experience with 5G background a plus
Experience in leading a diverse team and working in a collaborative Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
Working with PM and functional homerooms to maintain and staff program.
Experience with aircraft design systems engineering process and procedures
Experience in developing segment architectures, requirements and interfaces
Experience in developing and presenting technical documentation and briefings to the customer and organization leadership
Experience in new business development and proposal management, from capture planning to proposal delivery
Experience with modern/commercial architectures, such as cloud computing & pleo transports (Preferred)
Understanding military CONOPs or COMMs background (Preferred Qualification)
Active in-scope Secret clearance with current or previous Special Program Access (PAR)
