Bayer CropScience LP’s Luling, LA, office seeks a Chemical Production Engineer. This is a hybrid office/work-from-home position that will provide chemical engineering support of a key production plant.: (ii) provide support of loading and unloading operations for raw materials; (iii) provide process control auditing on performance metrics and troubleshooting support to production personnel as needed to identify and correct problems that impact safety, raw material yields, capacity, and product quality; (iv) create/maintain process, safety, and environmental documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating instructions, management of change (MOC) forms, etc.; (v) utilize batch/continuous process control techniques and unit operations in DCS; (vi) support execution of Environmental Compliance Duties including area release reviews and reporting; and (vii) participate in and provide data Process Hazard Analyses, and work to close gaps identified during PHAs.
This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States but must be able to work on-site/in the Luling office four (4) days per week. The employee must also be able to respond to on-call requests within two (2) hours.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Chemical Engineering or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related position.
Experience must include three (3) years: (i) working in a manufacturing plant environment, including ascending/descending stairs and ladders; (ii) leading multi-functional teams; (iii) in field support for check-out, commissioning, and startups; (iv) working with process controls as well as maintaining Functional Safety Systems; (v) working with in-process controls, IEC & ISA guidelines, and Interlock Guidelines; (vi) maintaining control systems; (vii) working with Emerson DeltaV and AMS or similar technologies; (viii) working with Windows-based Control System software; (ix) using batch/continuous process control software; and (x) working in unit operations in/with DCS and process control techniques.
Experience can be concurrent.
