Job Summary:
The Staff Quality Engineer for the Disneyland Resort will carry out and complete audits, inspections, and related work vital in confirming the compliance of our registered attractions to CA Permanent Amusement Ride regulations. In this role, you will be held accountable to sign the annual certificate of compliance to the State of California, Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) for the assigned registered attractions. You will own the process of DOSH audits, investigations, and inspections. You will also provide general Quality Engineering support to our internal customers.
You will report up to the Manager of Quality Engineering.
Responsibilities/You Will
- Certify assigned attractions annually to DOSH, as required by state law, following the successful completion of requisite inspections, audits, and related efforts.
- Lead and monitor the day-to-day compliance activities, major modifications, and corrective work of assigned attractions.
- Review and assess the content and alignment of requirements; frequency and priority of inspections; identify and correct any deviations between the Manufacturer’s Requirements, Operating Guides, job plans, and maintenance criteria for our attractions.
- Provide engineering dispositions for any In-Service Inspection Reports resulting from periodic inspections of registered attractions.
- Develop process improvements identified through a host of means from changes to existing guidelines and standards to the development of new standards, processes, and programs.
- Assist with all levels of auditing processes, while following up on, addressing, and closing out findings or observations.
- Provide general support to other Lines of Business within Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Operations, or any others as required.
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
- CA Professional Engineer’s (PE) License.
- Minimum 5-8 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Minimum 2 years of amusement park experience; 1 of which should be the inspection of rides.
- Understanding of quality assurance principles and strategies.
- Experience with the maintenance of complex systems that meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Experience with investigations, root cause analysis, and hazard assessments.
- Confirmed knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Strong partnering skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present intricate data relationships in concise and straightforward presentations.
- Flexibility to work after hours and off-shift hours when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- American Society for Quality Certifications
- Qualified Safety Inspector (QSI)
- Familiarity with industry regulatory, compliance standards, and processes.
Required Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Education
- Master's degree in Engineering, or related field.

The hiring range for this position in California is $112,012.00 to $150,260.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
