Job Description
Responsibilities:
PM SAI falls under Program Executive Office – Intelligence Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEW&S). PM SAI is headquartered at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) with product line support offices located at APG, MD. PM SAI is responsible for development, production, modernization, fielding, and sustainment of integrated manned and unmanned aerial Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) sensor payloads that leverage National and other Services’ capabilities. PM SAI also provides product solutions to support warfighting Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (PED) of Intelligence products.

The AEROS Systems Engineer will be located at Ft. Belvoir, VA.

What you'll do:
The Systems Engineer will be responsbile for the following but not limited to:
  • Provide system engineering support and advice for team integration on new and existing platforms, when required, at system level for cost/schedule/ performance impacts.
  • Interface with all aspects of the team to resolve system engineering issues and actions, to include: tracking user requirements and their translation into system requirements and specifications; providing expertise and direction in the development or modification of new capabilities; providing system engineering support and advice for system integration on new platforms, when required; evaluating project initiatives, designs, and design changes at the system level for cost/schedule/performance impacts.
  • Identify system requirements and work with other engineers and staff to oversee system design, development, integration, and product verification testing at the component and system level.
  • Establish and maintain processes for configuration management of systems.
  • Interface with host platform PMs and vendors to ensure requirements are met and expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
  • Advocate for program performance that meets the requirements of PM SAI System Engineering policy requirements, recommending future direction or projects to management.
  • Originate and deliver technical and program briefs to government and contractor personnel at all levels.
  • Participate in the developing training programs for various sensor systems.
  • Support testing and test planning across the full range of the acquisition life cycle, providing subject matter expertise and technical support for proof of concept, developmental test, operational tests, and factory & acceptance tests.; gather documentation to support field exercises and coordinate with test ranges and support activities.
  • Participate in the developing (creating, reviewing, revising) testing plans for various sensor systems.
  • Conduct, host, lead, and participate in Technical Exchange Meetings on system integration, problems and as needed or required.
  • Provide input to organizational assigned Task orders.
  • Set schedule M-F, 8 hours.
  • Hybrid schedule with option of RDO.
Qualifications:
  • Understanding of DoD Acquisition and Life-Cycle Management policies and procedures is desired.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree - Degree may be systems, electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years related work experience is required.
  • Must have demonstrated experience EO/IR technologies, either as an engineer or as an operator.
  • Experience integrating sensors onto host platforms (preferably airborne) is desired.
  • Test experience is desired.
  • Secret clearance required.
BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5, in Lieu of degree, equivelent work or military experience will be accepted.
