Core Responsibilities
- Balances constraints and opportunities to drive engineering consensus for new product introduction and methodology.
- Provides consultative direction and develops long term objectives and plans. Determines resources, technology and course of action to achieve results.
- Bring a combination of skills to be part Comcast’s CONNECT team, developing and implementing successful technology strategies for low latency low loss, high capacity, reliable access networks with distributed, NFV/SDN enabled architectures and other current and upcoming technologies.
- Work in a highly technically challenging domain that will shape the future of Comcast and be part of a team that thrives on big challenges and results.
- Work with Low Latency functions for CMTS and network gateways. Evaluate accuracy and functionality of solutions and evaluate the overall implications to the end-to-end network and operations.
- Design and build development test, trial and demo systems for new features and products, contribute initial deployment standards for new technologies and platforms; assist with assessment of new technology solutions and equipment evaluations, accelerate the adoption of open-source technologies,
- Develops and leads requirements, design, development, integration, test of network projects/products and decisions serve as precedents for future issues.
- Collaborate with cross-company organizations, vendors, partners and standard organizations with an open-minded perspective on new ideas with creative contribution on new technology, architectures and operational approaches. Inclusive sharing of ideas and data with all stakeholders. Inclined to act and do whatever is needed to get the job done.
- Consistently manages, leads, directs, and mentors matrixed teams of experts, project managers and other engineers to drive architecture that provides for smooth introduction of new products
- Work with program and operations resources to execute field trials and network measurement campaigns and to launch new products and services
- Frequent meeting/communication with stakeholders to interpret their needs, plan/organize, and discuss progress and results. Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and presentation are required.
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and articles, give internal and external talks

Required Experience and Knowledge
Experience and solid understanding of:
- DOCSIS (3/3.1/4) PHY, MAC and upper layer protocols including distributed network architectures with Software Defined Networking, Network Function Virtualization and Cloud-Based Systems
- CableLabs and IETF Low Latency (i.e. L4S, NQB) specifications
- Principles for networking and communication systems, Internet, and communication protocols such as Ethernet, IPv4 and IPv6, TCP/IP, QUIC/UDP, Scalable congestion control algorithms (DCTCP, TCP Prague etc.), AQM, RTP, DHCP, HTTPS, VoIP, Video over IP, fast packet processing and high-performance application platforms
- Quality of Experience functionality, monitoring and analysis of key network performance metrics
- Modern software development skills for testing and development purposes
- Traffic generation and analysis platforms, Grafana, Kibana or similar tools
- Hands-on experience in broadband access technologies, DOCSIS and Ethernet and IP networks including design, deployment, engineering, and operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills (process flows, analysis, measurements, and quality improvement methodologies).
- Solid laboratory test and measurement skills and understanding of experimental process. Field measurements, trials experience is a plus.
- Experience with software development process, architecture, APIs, and data models. Experience with modeling of systems and architectures is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with PON, Wi-Fi Networks, Ethernet Switches and CPE devices (e.g., gateways, ONUs, Wi-Fi devices) is a plus.
Education/Experience Level
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant science or engineering discipline
- 15+ years working in broadband or wireless telecommunications including HFC and DOCSIS technologies

Pay Range: This job can be performed in Denver Campus, with a Pay Range of $179,445.54 USD - $269,168.31 USD
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
