Job Description
Major/Essential Functions
Provide technical support by phone or in-person.
Maintain hardware, peripherals, and operating systems for proper operation.
Responsible for installation and relocation of computer equipment.
Install system software, patches, application software and utilities.
Complete and document all work orders as assigned.
Maintain the security and protection of electronic information resources to include computers, software and data.
Maintain service delivery performance metrics.
Issue pagers; keep accurate records and assists with pager maintenance.
Provide project services for both IT internal and institutional projects.
Maintain software approval procedures, and requests.
Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education.
Performs other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time, consistent with established verbal and written policies, procedures, and schedules.
Position Specific Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of installing computers/printers/external peripherals.
Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
Basic knowledge of PC’s, printer hardware and software configurations.
Ability to perform daily work activities of the position assuring prompt and effective response to customer needs.
Ability to analyze problems with help of senior technical people and determine appropriate solutions.
Ability to work under the stress of aggressive deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicating complex technical information to various customer groups.
Ability to coordinate and adjust workload effectively.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area OR
A combination of related education and/or experience to equal four (4) years.
For HSC Only: Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check after a conditional offer of employment has been extended, but before employment can be confirmed.
For TTU Only: Applicants for this Security Sensitive Level II position will be subject to a criminal background check and must pass a drug and alcohol test after a conditional offer of employment has been extended, but before employment can be confirmed.

CompTIA A+ certification.
Apple certification.
Dell Certification.
