The Hardware Engineer III - Product Electronics and Controls (PEC) is responsible for providing electronics hardware input to new product development projects. The PEC engineer will be specifically involved in helping the design and development of new controls or algorithms, and system testing both in the lab and on real products.
Responsibilities:
Provide new product development support, specific to controls in the Industrial, Commercial, Residential and/or Retail generator or Power Tool product area, supporting product development plans (Schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs), interfacing with internal company personnel, provide technical support for assigned projects.
Design embedded circuits using microprocessors/microcontrollers.
Desig circuits encompassing power electronics.
Create, design, develop test specifications for new systems and system components.
Conducts and evaluates test specification including testing firmware/hardware.
Create PC based testing tools.
Utilizes stimulation tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or directly related Engineering degree
5 years of experience designing analog and/or digital hardware Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in both analog and digital design utilizing microcontrollers
Experience of microprocessor hardware interfacing techniques (e.g. IIC, SPIbus, EEprom, etc.)
Experience in new product design and development
Experience with schematic capture tools such as Altium Designer
Experience in specifying and reviewing PCB layouts for critical spacing for signal integrity and minimizing EMC issues
Experience in high-speed logic/bus design
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel
