The position of Applications Engineer can be located with the ECT2 Engineering team in one of our offices: Portland, ME, San Diego, CA, Atlanta, GA or Fuquay Varina, NC. Remote candidates will also be considered.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a key member of our Application Engineering team, this role will report into the Manager of Applications Engineering where you will partner closely with our business development and project delivery teams to design process solutions for our water and vapor treatment proposal activities.

Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.

Learn and understand the highly technical products that ECT2 is delivering to our customers and also demonstrate customer-focus with creative problem-solving skills.

Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to evaluate the customer request and align the technical basis of design with the commercial strategy.

Utilize process engineering principals and ECT2 tools to design the treatment solution that meets or exceeds the customer’s effluent targets.

Evaluate our best fit solution against customer specifications, identify any gaps and work with the customer to resolve gaps either through exception or customization.

Select equipment and controls necessary for the selected treatment process to allow it to function as intended.

Consult with key functional teams and subject matter experts to build the required content for customer proposals.

Draft requests for quotations for process equipment based on our process design and project specifications. Ensure complete and compliant quotes are available on time for individual proposals, and/or provide clear exceptions to the specification.

Develop detailed labor and material cost estimates and lead times for proposals utilizing the company estimating tools and direct quotes from vendors.

Identify areas of risk or lack of information, note approach taken to produce the estimate in those cases, provide suggestions for risk mitigation.

Lead the customer proposal development process, highlighting ECT2’s value to the customer, defining scope, exceptions and commercial details.

Provide process engineering support and lead the technical handover to the project delivery team following receipt of purchase orders.

Provide process engineering support for demonstration of technology at customer sites.

Provide ideas for improvement of the Application Engineering tools, procedures and processes.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, environmental engineering or related field.

2+ years engineering experience in the environmental remediation/water/air treatment space.

Excited to help identify the best technologies for real-world problems and get them implemented.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases, Microsoft Office software, Google apps, etc.

Excellent time management, organizational, and technical communication skills.

Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel.

Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities.

Availability to travel 20% of the time, domestically and internationally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, environmental engineering or related field.

EIT Certification (USA)
