Job Description

The Layout Program at Micron Technology is a cohort-based, contractor program designed to offer onsite, paid training to students and new college graduates who do not have a formal technical background but are interested in learning more about Micron and layout engineering. This inaugural program will begin in July and last 10 weeks. Candidates must be local to the Atlanta area.

During the layout 10-week program, you will work with a highly innovative and motivated layout team to learn state of the art memory technologies for layout design in the most advanced DRAM products.

  • You will be challenged by the complexity and difficulty of designing the high density memory chip with complicated functionality, ultra-highspeed, advanced low power and power management technology.
  • You will work closely with Micron's global design & layout teams to contribute to the success of DRAM memory products by working on various layout design including making layout floorplan, doing signal routes, power bus design, building layout that meets the process rules and verifying that it matches the schematic.
  • You will have an opportunity to be hands on in various advanced tools and techniques to make a sophisticated leading-edge layout design.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the basic CMOS cross-section components
  • Create physical layout of circuits used in DRAM chips
  • Perform layout verification like LVS/DRC..etc
  • Proficiency with Cadence OA and Calibre verification tools

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or AS degree with no experience
  • Willing to learn and understand design rules and deliver qualified layout
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who enjoys working with others
  • Good communication and document skills

Preferred but not required

  • Good skill of Microsoft office software
  • Good knowledge and use of operating Systems: Windows, Mac OS, Unix
