Permian Production is seeking a Production Engineer with a proven track record of accomplishments to support the Permian Production team.
The position reports to the Permian Production Engineering Manager and can be based in the Permian field office or in the Denver office with frequent travel to the field.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and intervene in well under-performance and downtime issues.
- Maintain strong daily working relationships with field operations which requires regular on-site presence.
- Responsible for providing downhole well-work intervention recommendations and failure frequency improvements on wells with various types of artificial lift (ESP, rod-pump, and gas-lift).
- Creation of workover procedures and artificial lift practices to optimize performance and minimize cost.
- Monitor and review lease operating expenses and assist in the overall effort to reduce operating costs.
- Establish relationships with service companies and offset operators to further our position as a lead operating company.
- Capital and expense project management including detailed cost tracking.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to drive improvement in production efficiencies.
- Demonstrate a thorough EH&S ethos in adopting and improving safe work practices.
- Ensure all regulatory, environmental and safety compliance issues are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or other engineering equivalent field.
- 3 or more years of experience in Production Engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines reliably.
- Additional experience in multiple basins is preferred, as well as experience with various artificial lift systems, facilities operations and optimization, and automation knowledge.
- Experience in liquids rich plays and liquids measurement is highly preferred.
- Experience with Cygnet, XPOC, ARIES, Wellview and Spotfire a plus.
- Experience with artificial lift monitoring and design software preferred (SNAP & SROD).
In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Ovintiv's reasonable estimate of the hiring compensation range for this role.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $109,000 - $167,000 USD
Compensation may vary and will be determined by the geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
