Job Description:
Broadcom is looking for an experienced Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Engineer. The candidate will take a critical role in developing the next generation of high speed optical and electrical connectivity networking products. The person in this role is expected to work independently and lead projects, as well as work within teams interfacing with other engineers, technicians and/or outside vendors to complete all necessary SI and PI tasks. In particular, the role entails close collaboration with ASIC designers, package and system validation engineers to help establish and validate system requirements and hardware specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong SI and PI design background, excellent simulation and lab measurement capability, and experience in designing and manufacturing high speed SerDes and networking products.
Responsibilities include:

Lead pre-layout and post-layout simulation flow with a focus on high-speed interface and PDN, create simulation models and develop simulation methodology and sign off on the design.

Lead SI and PI validation methodology and develop detailed engineering test plans.

Validate high speed interface and PDN impedance in the lab to correlate simulation results and improve design flow.

Use simulation and lab data to support design troubleshooting and propose corrective actions, drive failure analysis, root cause efforts, and design of experiments to resolve problems.

Support multiple projects at the same time.

EMI testing.
Minimum Qualifications
-
BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 12+ years of experience in SIPI simulation, validation and measurement areas.

Experience in SI and PI fundamentals, familiar with PCB/flex design and manufacturing process.

Proven understanding of impedance control, transmission line and PDN characterization, feasibility study and create practical design guidelines

Hands-on experience using 2D/2.5D/3D simulation tools, creation of complex SIPI models, frequency, and time domain simulation

Hands-on experience using high speed lab equipment and PHY compliance test fixtures

Familiar with electrical measurement equipment such as VNA, oscilloscope, TDR and BERT

Experience using Cadence Sigrity, PowerSI, Ansys SIwave, Keysight ADS, 3D layout and Ansys HFSS

Self-starter with analytical and organizational skills

Experience with documentation and reporting skills
Additional Job Description:
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $126,000 - $210,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
