NG's Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS). LSMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-2 Bomber, E-3 Sentry, Airborne Warning and Control System, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary Systems Engineering focal for the manufacturer and Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) integration during entire pre-production, production, and return to storage phases of performance of the B-2 Flight Control Surfaces program.
Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of assigned projects.
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes, coordinating the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance work statements and specifications.
Perform or manage functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware specifications.
Review drawings and specifications required to manufacture composite parts for producibility and submit Request for Change/Information (RC/Is) as required.
Assist as necessary the Manufacturer’s planners in creation of new planning for composite components.
Review as necessary the Manufacturer’s Manufacturing Top-Down Breakdown (MFG Process flow) based on Engineering requirements, including identification of required tooling
Basic Required Qualifications:
A Bachelors in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 9 years of experience OR a Master’s in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience or a PhD in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience
Experience in requirements development/allocation, test, and hardware design/development
Must have 4 years or more of experience managing B-2 technical programs.
Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR)
Must be able to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Salt Lake City, Utah or Dayton, Ohio.
Strong customer engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven performance as a Systems Engineering leader in many of the phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution.
Candidate will be able to rapidly assess and lend guidance to projects assigned to the organizational group as well as demonstrated mentoring and guidance to engineers.
Business development background including proposal development and Red Team support.
Experience with general requirements management best practices
Experience with production planning, tooling, and manufacturing
Experience with aircraft systems to include structures, composites, and flight controls
Experience developing organizational processes/procedures for various engineering analysis.
