What we are looking for

We are looking for an independent, full-time environmental field technician to assist with the workload of diverse, challenging environmental projects in Central and North Florida. This position is based in the Orlando, FL area. Ability to travel is required.

Ability to follow regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, SCS protocols, and competency to complete tasks and projects from management. You will report to the Project Manager or Project Director.

• Well installation oversight
• Subcontractor management and oversight
• Multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air) and reporting
• Vapor monitoring
• Field note preparation
• Operate and maintain equipment including calibration
• Collect and evaluate/interpret scientific data; Communicate observations and technical data verbally and in writing
• Perform work independently or as a team member in a productive and safe manner, adopting the principles of SCS' safety culture

Qualifications

• Experience with environmental field work preferred but training is offered
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required
• Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
• Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the SCS office, extended out of town fieldwork is required.
• Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required.

Pay range for this position is $28/hr depending on experience and location. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
