Awarded in August 2021 to the Parsons Team, the TEAMS next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract has a three-year base period plus four one-year options that should take the period of performance through the end of 2028 into 2029. The primary purpose of this contract is to provide outstanding systems engineering services vital for MDA mission success at multiple locations around the world. Venturi, LLC, a, Chenega company, has an exciting career opportunity for a Threat Systems Engineer who will play an important role supporting Missile Defense Agency on the TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract. This individual will perform analysis of complex threat systems to support Missile Defense System capability development and assessment.
Responsibilities:

Work you’ll do

As a Threat Systems Engineer within our TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering team, you will:

  • Analyze intelligence-based threat system performance to translate threat capabilities into written requirements for target vehicles
  • Work within the Target Requirements Team and stakeholders to develop clear, concise, and unambiguous target requirements
  • Prepare technical presentations of analysis performed and results obtained for the Engineering team and the DEI-E Director
  • Lead and support technical meetings (e.g., provide input and meeting synopsis)
  • Analyze referent data to aid in requirements definition and compliance assessment
  • Develop tools to aid in data analysis and presentation
  • Develop briefings suitable for explaining requirements derivation decisions and calculations to external teams and internal leadership
  • Brief internal leadership on requirements development, mission and trajectory analysis, and RCS and IR signatures
  • Develop and maintain software to perform duties
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
  • 7+ years’ experience in for missile defense engineering or similar related programs
  • Technical analysis of complex system performance
  • Strong communications skills
  • Experience in RF or IR signature analysis and assessment
  • RF signature generation and assessment to include processing XPATCH output files
  • IR signature generation and assessment to include executing and processing Optical Signatures Code (OSC)
  • Experience in trajectory analysis to include working in different coordinate frames, endo- and exo-atmospheric behavior, and identifying key trajectory parameters
  • This position requires travel
  • Active Secret clearance

Desired Skills:
  • Degree in Math, Physics or similar core engineering field
  • Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency and the Missile Defense System
  • Understanding of the MDA Engineering practices and processes
  • Familiarity with Missile Defense System system-level documentation, such as the System Description Document and System Specification
  • Experience using MATLAB to develop analysis and plotting tools (other scripting languages such as Python are also desirable)
  • Ability to generate and deliver briefings to external teams and management effectively
  • Ability to work within a collaborative environment composed of government, prime/sub-contractor, and supporting contractor personnel
