Peraton’s Alexandria based Network and Unified Communications Architecture team is seeking a cleared Senior Collaboration Engineer (VoIP and Video) to join a dynamic group of network and UC engineers. This team provides planning, design, configuration, deployment, and tier III troubleshooting support. You will bring your years of experience and expertise to propel the team to success.
Overview:
The Senior Collaboration Engineer is charged with enabling program mission success by leveraging new and existing unified communications designs. This work is hands-on and includes aspects of planning, design, implementation, and deployment. You will be at the center of a team with the mission to provide world-class secure voice and video capabilities to the customer. You will serve as a collaboration SME and provide technical guidance to ensure the current and future success of the program.
What you'll do:
- Develops collaboration architecture designs, studies, and plans.
- Supports design, test readiness, and operational readiness reviews.
- Provides senior program managers with recommendations on voice and video collaboration approaches and strategies for new and continued business.
- Develops, implements, and manages voice and video collaboration processes including design standards to ensure compliance, relevancy, and sustainability.
- Performs capacity planning of the collaboration services by auditing and analyzing performance and availability of voice and video services.
- Pro-actively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the collaboration environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership.
- Provides tier III support for trouble resolution of the voice and video infrastructure to supplement the program’s operations team.
- Flexible with scheduled support of occasional ASI/outages after hours and on weekends
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Minimum of ten (10) total years of progressively increasing experience leading to the architecture/design, development, and implementation of enterprise voice and video collaboration solutions.
- Bachelor's Degree in EE, CE or CS with IT focus. Will consider additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Ability to architect, implement and support video infrastructure solutions for conferencing, gateway transit, and mobile devices.
- In depth implementation and troubleshooting experience of collaboration using concepts/protocols such as H.263, H.264, SIP, bandwidth resolutions and frame rates, frame picture formats, HDMI resolutions, audio codecs, voice and video encryption, and device trust certificates.
- Experience engineering, deploying, and troubleshooting voice and video collaboration systems such as the CUCM, UCS platform, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Telepresence Management System (TMS), legacy video conferencing hardware, Multi-controller Units, and Voice Gateways.
Preferred:
- CCNA, CCNP, and/or CCIE certifications.
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- Implementing and Operating Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies (CLCOR) certification.
- Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience with voice and video performance management tools, security tools and appliances, layer two technologies, wireless communications, and firewall/gateway traversals is preferred.
- Experience working in a lab development environment performing test and development functions.
- Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
- The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and gather team consensus to move forward.
- Previous experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer.
- Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls.
- Experience with REDCOM Sigma and Slice voice conferencing systems.
- Experience with Variphy Cisco CDR Reporting and Call Analytics .
- Experience with VQ Conference Manager and the Postman API platform.
