CEOR Research Engineer
Job Description
Chevron is accepting online applications for the CEOR Research Engineer position through April 27, 2023at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
We are seeking a driven professional with strong motivation to embrace new technologies and work on diverse and complex tasks with multidisciplinary teams. The individual will be an Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Researcher who is responsible for developing novel gas based EOR technologies and work with business unit partners to develop plans for deployment. The gas-based technologies include PVT, foam characterization, reservoir characterization using tracers, experimental design, set up, execution and interpretation.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Work safely in upstream laboratories with a focus on Chevron’s Tenets of Operation.
- Setup lab experiments, develop experimental protocols and workflows and identify new gas-based technologies for future R&D.
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal CTC and Business Unit partners and external vendors to identify research needs and develop execution plans.
- Develop relationships with external Universities to keep up recent developments in gas EOR.
- Mentor younger engineers and technologists to develop better lab researchers.
- Assist with developing and managing medium to large multidisciplinary complex research projects.
Required Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Petroleum Engineering
- Minimum of five years in an active Research and Development lab role in industry or academia. More relevant experience is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of chemical EOR and gas EOR methods
- Familiarity / Experience with unconventional reservoir EOR methods
- Familiarity with data science
- Strong analytical and computer skills
