Job Description

We are looking for a PC&IS (Power Controls & Information Systems) Lead Technical Engineer that will be able provide technical leadership in supporting the Fabric Care Site businesses. They must employ their technical mastery along with an understanding of manufacturing process to create laundry detergent in multiple forms, dry, liquid and unit dose, to provide the consumer with a superior quality to other brands. They will be involved with both making/process and packing technologies.

The Alexandria site is home to Surfactant Making, Heavy Duty Liquid (HDL), Soluble Unit Dose (SUD), and now Functional Fibers, which replaced Dry Laundry. The Alexandria site has led the way in introducing our consumers to various laundry detergent platforms, such as Dry and SUD. And will continue with that trademark by leading the way in the Functional Fibers platform via the Black Widow Project. Functional Fibers is the next evolution of laundry. Black Widow is a new and versatile product innovation platform for Fabric Care that utilizes the very best of our HDL and HDG expertise without the negatives – in the form of Functional Fibers. The Alexandria site will house/develop the 1st commercial scale of this technology anywhere in the world!

The PC&IS Lead Technical Engineer is a key enabler in leading and delivering results against the challenges that will come with this new platform. This role will be a critical part of the Fabric Care Alexandria PC&IS team and will execute projects for the category by leveraging advanced controls and information systems in compliance with P&G Cyber Security standards.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • BS/MS Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Systems, Electrical degrees are preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong leadership, business problem definition, and priority setting skills
  • An aptitude for communicating insights and collaborating across teams/organizations
  • Strong technical mastery in PC&IS technologies, including Continuous Process Control, Instruments, Control Logix PLCs, Wonderware, Motion Control, Vision Systems, Networks, Drives, Sensors, Server Technologies, and Global, Regional and Local Electrical Design Codes that govern applicable equipment and installation practices. Experience with the P&G Electrical Specification, Programming standards including OPERA, Universal Pack, and PackML, U3M, UPack are a plus.
  • IT knowledge including, virus and malware protection, network segmentation, access control, firewalls, developing disaster recovery plans, conducting cybersecurity audits at the site, data lake concepts, and Virtual Machines.
  • Digital Enterprise Technologies are needed to enable the Business and the PC&IS Site Leader is key in comprehending not only the value of implementing technology but is critical in developing and communicating the strategy on how to adopt, build capability and maintain emerging technologies across the site.
  • Experience in application of EWP, CQV, GSUM, RE and other Engineering IM/IWS standard work processes. Proven capability to manage projects, assess staffing requirements, develop and communicate staffing plans with recommended options. Ability to develop Best Value Options Analysis, lead group discussions and drive to conclusion. Communicate effectively with Leadership to explain the recommended strategies and when required, develop and communicate plans to mitigate risks within a project.
  • Good leadership, communication, and coaching skills. Ability to set standards, role model, coach, teach, and set technical direction. Possesses ability and passion to develop the organization, conduct OP models as required, develop or pull in from other areas training materials and deploy across the site. Train and Coach the department CSEs and CSOs. Provide training and coaching to the Technical Leads on software and hardware infrastructure. Work with Operating Departments through the Technical Leader department leads to develop staffing requirements, training and qualification plans.
  • Teamwork/ Collaboration: Ability to work across disciplines and departments to build consensus and align technical directions. Experience using a variety of influencing skills. Has displayed high communication skills. Effective communication with people from diverse backgrounds and nationalities is essential. Builds relationships that allow for smooth work. Develops and leverages strategic technology partnerships internally (with the sites and P&G Technical Centers) and externally (academic institutions, vendors)
  • Ability to identify opportunities to leverage PC&IS technologies to meet the most challenging business needs. Ability to deal with cost and scheduling constraints and understands the differences between Low-Cost Solutions and Total Cost of Ownership and when each is needed. Passion for working with the broader PC&IS site organizations, driving capability within oneself and others.
  • Proven capability to penetrate technical details and drive issues to resolution in a timely manner. These issues may involve barriers to equipment performance, to speed, to quality, or to safety.
  • Understands and follows Safe Work practices for electrical systems and mechanical equipment. Understands the risks associated with manufacturing environment and can define safe work systems and equipment with particular focus on AMEC, Lock out/Tag out procedures, and code requirements.

Communicate effectively with Leadership to explain the recommended strategies and when required, develop and communicate plans to mitigate risks within a project. Starting Pay / Salary Range: $100-$143k

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
