Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Planning, Requirements and Delivery team in the Global Supply Chain organization. This leadership role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL where on-site support is required.
In this role you will be responsible for technical management related to the acquisition of part and assemblies in support of the STRIKE division while developing excellent supply base relationships to respond to program, customer needs and concerns quickly. You also will support the development of Supplier Manufacturing Engineering labor estimates and develop processes to streamline and ensure robust execution of tasks. Provide staff to program needs, lead and evaluate performance of team members. Conduct production readiness audits of supplier’s facilities to access risks. Conduct technical evaluations of supplier proposals to determine fair and reasonableness and support supply chain negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coach a team of Supplier Manufacturing Engineers to ensure performance towards organizational goals.
- Main technical focal point in the Global Supply Chain organization.
- Own Supplier Tooling Manual Principles and Operating procedure to ensure supplier execution.
- Own Request for Change and Information Process for the supply base
- Flexibility and ability to travel (Up to 25%)

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years manufacturing/production, engineering, and/or leadership experience
- Understanding of GD&T, and manufacturing notes to manage change requests with suppliers.
- Experience leading muti-disciplined manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Capable to conduct audits and reviews with suppliers for capability assessments and rate readiness.
- Working proficiency using SAP and MS Office software packages.
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)..
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in engineering or manufacturing
- Knowledge of tool design, configuration, and maintenance.
- Experience with model-based programs (i.e. NX)
- Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes of composites, metal parts and subsystems.
- Experienced with ERP and accountability tools (SAP, MES, AssetSmart, etc)
- Knowledge of FAR & DFAR requirements
