Project Overview:
The ML2 Project is the design and construction of a launch platform for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions. ML2 includes many different subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites’ ground systems.
Responsibilities:
- Essential duties include reviewing pipe and piping component related calculations and material evaluations.
- Prepare and coordinate piping and valve specifications and/or material requisitions, bid evaluations and award recommendations and perform detailed supplier bid technical evaluations and supplier document reviews.
- Candidate should have experience with ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards
Qualifications and Skills:
Basic Qualifications:
- Level One: BS degree in an engineering with a minimum of 6 years’ experience
- Level Two: BS degree in an engineering with a minimum of 9 years’ experience
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
- Extensive of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 piping codes
- Prior experience using an automated procurement system
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site
Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT/PE Registration
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience
- Candidates possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship
