Responsibilities:
Arcfield’s Aerospace Threat Assessment (ATA) Engineer is a position tailored for an entry level engineer eager to apply current and emergent technical modeling, simulation, and analysis techniques as part of a diverse team supporting DoD customers on a wide range threat assessments for both the US intelligence community as well as US missile system designers. The ATA analyzes and models all aspects of foreign missile weapons systems, including flight dynamics; both traditional and novel, navigation and communications systems; onboard sensors; and Command, Control, Communications, and Computer (C4) systems based on all source intelligence. Tasks may include system analysis, model definition, algorithm characterization and development, coding of models, use of simulations to conduct studies and reporting of results, and development and maintenance of digital and hardware-in-the-loop simulation architectures.

This position is tailored to enable an entry level engineer with a more formal aerospace background the opportunity to apply it to real world aerospace design and engineering challenges. The ATA works directly with a broad and diverse team providing exposure to a broad aerospace environment. The aerospace threat assessment challenges are as diverse as the breadth of technical methodologies used to address them.

The ATA supports defense analytical requirements with enhanced scientific/engineering research, capability/limitation analysis, reverse engineering analysis/characterization, facility, and vulnerability assessments on foreign aerospace capabilities. Analysis, assessments, and products include current and future foreign aerospace technology and systems such as aircraft, spacecraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and ground control systems to understand capabilities and vulnerabilities.
Qualifications:
  • BS 2-4 years of experience; MS 0-2 Years; or HS with 8-10
  • TS/SCI w/CI Poly
  • Bachelor's Degree Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Moderate skill in a programing language such as C++, Python, or MATLAB
  • Good written and oral communication skills, and the desire to work with a highly technical team
  • Interest or experience with 6-DoF batch and/or real-time simulation architectures.
  • Interest or experience with any aspects of ballistic missile systems
