This position is for a large program supporting the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP) within the National Capitol Region.
The mission of the office is to ensure a healthy Defense Industrial Base (DIB) able to meet the warfighters’ needs with industrial capabilities upon which the DoD can rely on in an era of great power competition to fulfill current and future warfighter capabilities.
We have several opportunities available at various customer and HII sites. Remote or hybrid options may be available. The salary will range from $100,000 to $135,000. We may demonstrate flexibility depending upon experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support research and analysis on critical sectors (e.g., hypersonics, space, microelectronics, critical chemicals and minerals, castings and forgings, REEs, batteries and energy storage, sUAS) of the DIB, including all tiers of critical supply chains to identify areas of lagging and non-existent critical industrial capacity.
- Support the assessment of critical technologies to develop recommendations on modifying existing designs, standards, specifications, materials, methods, applications, and processes to onshore and enhance manufacturability of critical capabilities that support national defense and security requirements.
- Collaborate with the Government in Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities that support the DIB critical sectors. Perform continuous assessments of each IPT’s activities and their efficiency in developing accurate roadmaps to guide DIB investments.
- Support the implementation, transition, integration, and deployment of Government approved changes resulting from the R&D performed in support of this program.
- Perform R&D assessments, analyses, and Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) to develop recommendations that strengthen and maintain a DIB that is able to meet the warfighters’ needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in realted field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: hypersonics, space, microelectronics, critical chemicals, critical minerals, castings and forgings, rare earth elements, batteries and energy storage, sUAS.
- Must be eligible to hold a SECRET level security clearance. TS/SCI preferred. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
