We are the first steps of the bridge between ideas that were dreamt of in a research lab and product. We are looking for an innovative electrical engineer who has experience in designing high performance hardware in a research environment. The candidate must be able to work with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists to determine specifications, architect hardware, and build the required system. They should have experience bringing up complex PCB boards and be able to script enough to collect, parse, and analyze data. Key Qualifications

  • BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Additionally, candidates should have the following qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiar with all the skills required to make an HW/SW prototype (schematics, 4+ layer PCB layout, bring-up, and FW/SW)
  • Comfortable using standard lab equipment for testing, characterization, and debugging (e.g. oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively across teams with different levels of expertise in a dynamic project environment
  • DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
  • Skill writing test or automation software in high level languages (e.g. C, Python)
  • Experience working with systems that may include analog sensors, ADCs, FPGAs, and embedded microcontrollers is a plus
  • Experience with various modeling and simulation tools, such as ANSYS, Simulink, and COMSOL is a plus

Description

As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities: - Design and characterize high performance PCBs that typically contain a sensitive analog front end and a large data pipeline - Analyze and improve analog signal chain performance - Collect and analyze data to assess the feasibility of an idea - Develop algorithms to help improve hardware & software - Design test plans that clearly set priorities and milestones for projects

BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $130,000 and $242,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
