Job Duties & Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Independently perform the highest skilled work associated with diagnosing, testing, inspection, maintenance, repair, adjustment, installation, and operation of Facilities Service building systems and equipment.
  • Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair.
  • Responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, instrumentation and controls, electrical, water and sanitary plumbing, pneumatic systems, fire protection and detection of security systems such as computerized energy management/HVAC electronic, mechanical and pneumatic controls, electrical switchgear/motor control centers, electric motors, uninterrupted power supplies and associated batteries, emergency generators, fire detectors and associated controls, security camera’s, card key access equipment, overhead cranes, refrigeration and H2O, CO2 and Halon fire protection equipment.
  • Performs electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent, LED and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) Using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
  • Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, Fixture replacement.
  • Performs painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
  • Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts modular system offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
  • Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled
  • Perform routine duties associated with snow removal at designated or assigned facilities/sites.
  • Meet with departments to resolve problems, and implement corrective actions and procedures.
  • Evaluate and diagnose the effect of equipment and/or system outages on other departments.
